Welcome to my blog.
I am a wife, mother, writer, and servant of Jesus. Here, I write about things related to my faith and my family. I hope that your time spent reading about the lessons I’ve learned (mostly the hard way) and things I’ve experienced will grow your relationship with Jesus, too.
Jesus told a parable about a farmer sowing seeds — some of which fell among thorns and were choked out by the distractions of the world. Solomon referenced his beloved as a lily among the thistles. Both of those stories remind us that sometimes we aren’t able to help the circumstances we find ourselves in. We can do nothing about the thorns that surround us.
Solomon’s beloved could do nothing about the fact that her lover had hundreds of other wives and concubines, but she didn’t let it stop the relationship that blossomed between them. She loved him and cherished their time together.
You and I can’t help that we have our own worries surrounding us, and distractions trying to steal our attention away from Jesus, but we can still grow if we set our minds to. Seeds need to be watered and fed so that they can mature and flourish. We do this through prayer and studying the Bible. When we focus on our own growth rather than the circumstances around us, we can cultivate the right kind of soil so that we can flourish.
With Jesus, you can bloom, even among the thorns.
My faith is the most precious thing in the world to me. To know beyond doubt that there is a God who knows me, sees me, hears me—it brings such peace and comfort no matter what I face in this life.
The Bible says that when a man and wife are joined together they become one. Let me share with you what I’ve learned (mostly the hard way) about the merging of two people.
Psalm 127 says that children are a gift from God. But how do we know we are making the best decisions regarding these precious gifts God has entrusted to us?
